But it's not just a photo
op. Because this is actually the place where
Saint Paul preached to the Athenians. And he even converted a senator
by the name of Dionysius. (He was later to be known as St. Dionysius
the
Areopagite.)
Ok, maybe he's not a household name. But he was the first person to
become a Christian in Athens! That's pretty right on. And it was thanks
to Paul's preaching on this very rock. So I thought I'd re-enact the
moment.
You might be thinking to
yourself that's a dumb picture. And you'd be
right. But what's really dumb? I had to set this shot up myself, run
into frame, and then fake "yell" something before the flash went off.
Clearly I converted no one in my work here.
