The Bible talks about Paul's harrowing adventures: Illness, imprisonment, ship-wrecks...
And I really wanted to follow in the footsteps of St. Paul and experience everything he experienced. So lets see how I compare:

I didn't get ill. Though I may have eaten some bad clams.
I wasn't imprisoned (Diplomatic immunity).
And I wasn't ship-wrecked.

Ok, so it sounds like I had a pretty easy trip. But check out just one day of my travels - when I went from Thessaloniki to Philippi:

I started the day at the bus station, wanting to take a bus from Thessaloniki to Kavala to Philippi.
See if you find that route on this bus list:

I was less than thrilled.



I eventually figured it out, and got to take a 5 hour bus ride on this pleasure-mobile.



So I finally get to my destination. Oh, I happen to be there on a Monday. And check out this sign:



CLOSED? After all that? Are you kidding me?
For the second time that day, I was less than thrilled.
