God
Q:
I caught
some of your show last Sunday. You had a guest on who said true love is
when you love someone, and they love you. That's very nice. But that
brings up the question, doesn't God love everyone? And if He does, then
is it true love? Or does God only truly love those who love Him? What
about the people who don't know God, and could care less if they did?
Doesn't God have TRUE LOVE for them? (Side-note: she also said one
cannot really love one's dog. I think she's wrong, and I do not have a
dog. Who says people can't love their dogs, and the dogs can't return
that love?. Love your show Lino!

A:
Wow, there's a lot of love in the room. There are a
lot of questions in the room, as well. (And for the record, love
usually brings up lots of questions in my own life - so I see the
correlation.)
One thing to point out right off the bat: anyone who is willing to come
on my show clearly shows a lack of judgment by just being with me. So I
wouldn't judge their answers too harshly.
The woman who was talking about true love was talking about it between
two people. God's love is far beyond human love - because, well, God is
beyond us in every aspect. Including love.
God truly loves each human person - even if the person doesn't know
God. Or if the person has simply rejected God. So you're right in
pointing that out: God has true love for everyone. Our decision to love
God back in return or not has no effect on the true love God gives to
all.
As regards the love between man and dog, I believe that's illegal in
most states. And where it isn't, there oughta be a law. You usually can
only see that stuff in Amsterdam.
Anyway, thanks for your lovingly insightful comments. And by the way,
when you say you "love my show" - is that true love?
(See how tricky these love questions can be? Now you have pity on me
doing a lousy job answering your question, don't you...?)
