Donation
Q:
I'm
considering donating my body to science after I die. Does the Catholic
Church approve of this practice?
-D.M.
A:
Well,
if you switch your initials around you could be a medical doctor
yourself and donate your body to yourself.
(I swear the initials are true...the comedy is just that strong?).
Yes,
you can donate your body to science. It's
important to remember, however, that Christians believe at the Second
Coming
our bodies will be reunited with our souls. So donating your body is
fine,
as long as this isn't a denial of faith in the resurrection of the body.
As for me, I'm in such bad shape - I tried donating my body to science
fiction. Even they denied it.
